Vincent Dupont-Rougier

Vincent Dupont-Rougier likes to cover his tracks up and draw off the beaten path. One could almost write he already was a designer before actually becoming one, since it only was after drawing his first pieces that he decided to train at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, himself soon becoming a teacher there. One thing is certain, Vincent Dupont-Rougier on his own embodies some kind of French exception and this discreet man distills his talent with the accuracy of a goldsmith. It is without a doubt this atypical profile and highly personal course which have made him an early craftsman and a faithful ally to Christophe Delcourt’s maison d’édition. To his credit, emblematic pieces such as the DUP coffee table and the AMY library or the OUM side table-- pieces of character, both strong and with an immediateness to their purpose, alternating between straight lines and curves.
