Michaël Verheyden

Passionate about rock music, but probably also inspired by silence, Verheyden creates fashion accessories and home objects. After graduating as an Industrial Designer in 2001 and before starting his own design label, he worked together with, among others, fashion designer Raf Simons. Raf Simons coached Michaël Verheyden's graduation project and commissioned him to make a series of leather bags for his summer 2003 collection.

In 2002 he started his own company producing leather bags and accessories, hence his mastering of this material. He prefers noble and durable materials that feel natural and age beautifully In 2009, he received the 'Henry Vande Velde Young Talent Award', an important gesture of recognition from the Flemish design industry. Apart from his quest for good quality fabrics, Michaël Verheyden puts a lot of time into finding new ways to construct things.
