Kihyun Kim

Simplicity, Materiality and Creating New Typology in Industrial Design.

Born in South Korea in 1979, Kihyun Kim studied Design Product at Royal College of Art and graduated in 2011.

He has been working independently after RCA, specializing in industrial design across furniture, electronic products and living accessories. Before the studying at RCA, he worked for 3 years as an industrial designer and design researcher on a diverse range of fields including product, furniture, communication and public design. Kihyun has shown a pragmatic approach to design briefs, presenting distinctive aspects and demonstrating versatility in individual research tasks. His design attitude is based on continuos exploring and embraces new typology, materiality, technology and simplicity.
