The star of LIN 17 is the rhombus shape, despite the designers having consciously redefined their basic dimensionality. This edition enables recurring groups of tiled rhombi to combine in a variety of cuboid effects – welcoming elements that break the rhythm to open up almost countless additional constellations of individual tiles – and allowing the imagination to run free. Colours and surfaces combine endlessly with shapes and variations; and vice versa. The dominance of the ‘diamond’ permits extensions of creativity far beyond mere convention.
