Woman Sitting #299

Prints

Frédéric Forest originally gained recognition as an industrial designer, including his collaborations with Christophe Delcourt. However, his minimalist drawings have earned him prominent commissions with Hermes, Lancome, Chanel, and other luxury brands. WOMAN SITTING #299 made with Japanese pen on paper, is delicate and minimal in pen stroke, but incredibly rich in emotion. Influenced by photography, fashion, poetry and light, Forest has noted “Women have always been a main inspiration. Their attitude, their gesture, their pose, their shapes.. I draw women like they are, not like I would like them to be.”

Frédéric Forest

Born and raised in Annecy, Frédéric Forest discovered his first love before he could even write: drawing. This passion led him to Paris to study design and took him around Europe, working for a host of luxury brands, before settling back into Parisian life where he started his own design studio, Forest & Giaconia, with interior and product designer Clémentine Giaconia. However, it is for his drawings that he is best known, with a cult-like following that stretches across the globe (219k followers and counting) as @fredericforest on Instagram and over 3 000 people tattooing his designs on their bodies. Frédéric dedicates his time to his passion in his Parisian studio in Montparnasse, in the 15th arrondissement, and is managed by cūra art management.
