Destination Vancouver

We’re pleased to announce our Vancouver showroom is open for business. A two-story, 13,000 square foot space offering a total concept design experience from architectural products, kitchens, and lighting, to furniture, textiles, and accessories. Vancouver represents our fifth North American showcase, and first on the West Coast, with additional locations in Toronto, New York, and Miami.

"We are thrilled to put down roots in Vancouver, a place that we believe will identify with our personalized service, curated contexts, and truly global perspective”

“It’s this juxtaposition between raw and refined that we sought to evoke in our design. Throughout the space, you’ll see certain materials and elements set in contrast to each other, whether it’s smooth grey oak flooring paired with sandblasted marble, or industrial steel set against softly lit walls.”

In collaboration with Abraham Chan Design Office, we restored and revived a one-hundred-year-old heritage building at the corner of West Pender and Hamilton Street in Gastown. Respecting the existing history and beauty of the structure and surrounding community, we worked extensively with heritage consultants to preserve many of the building’s original elements. An example can be seen in the building’s original Douglas Fir columns and beams, which were integrated into the design to pay tribute to the regions natural environment and the spirit of Vancouver’s history.

“The space is very much a reflection of Vancouver, which we see as this cosmopolitan city set within a landscape of raw, natural beauty,” says Abraham Chan, Principal at Abraham Chan Design Office and native Vancouverite. “It’s this juxtaposition between raw and refined that we sought to evoke in our design. Throughout the space, you’ll see certain materials and elements set in contrast to each other, whether it’s smooth grey oak flooring paired with sandblasted marble, or industrial steel set against softly lit walls.”

Entering through doors off of Hamilton Street to the lower level, guests are greeted by a modern and architectural floral shop called Hanna by Celsia Floral, a revered Kitsilano florist. As they move through Hanna by Celsia Floral, guests will find a showcase by The Rug Company, one of AVENUE ROAD’s exclusive partnerships.

British brand The Rug Company produces some of the finest quality rugs in the world by combining the ancient craft of rug making with the creative brilliance of some of today’s most talented designers, including Vivienne Westwood, Paul Smith, Alexander McQueen, and Kelly Wearstler, among many others.

The showroom’s lower level houses all of AVENUE ROAD Vancouver’s exclusive partners, which in addition to The Rug Company includes: Porsche Design Lighting from Apure, designer Jaime Hayon’s pieces for manufacturer Wittmann, Tribù Outdoor Furniture, and Obumex bespoke and signature kitchens.

Apure, the first architectural lighting brand to collaborate with Porsche Design Studio, is known for revolutionizing the industry by introducing sleek, recessed solutions that intersect high design with careful engineering to eliminate ceiling clutter.

Family-owned upholstered furniture company, Wittmann, is renowned worldwide for their meticulous attention to quality – in both their selection of materials and careful production. The collection “Wittmann Hayon workshop” is a playful collaboration between the Austrian manufacturer and Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon featuring beautifully curved and sculptural lounge seating and tables.

Belgian, family-run design house Tribù adds discreet luxury and exclusivity to any terrace or garden. Their luxury outdoor furniture pieces are a striking combination of elegant modernism, distinctive purity, and impeccable quality.

On the main floor of the showroom, guests will discover AVENUE ROAD’s signature, curated edit of modern furnishings, textiles, accessories, and objects sourced from the world’s leading design brands and designers, such as Bruno Moinard, Kvadrat/Raf Simons, Christophe Delcourt, and Van Rossum, as well as Canadian designers like Yabu Pushelberg, Moss&Lam, Unit Five and Jacques Guillon. Also displayed on the main floor is a ceramic wall art installation by Moss&Lam, embodying the natural beauty of Vancouver's expansive parks and dramatic ocean with beautiful and tailored handcrafted elements, as well as an extensive collection of handmade porcelain objects and tiling from German company Nymphenburg.
