Beat of Brazil
The middle decades of the 20th century produced a cadre of architects and designers that transformed and built the modern Brazil, mixing the modernist design of the time with the energy, traditional techniques, and exotic materials of the nation. Great architects like Oscar Niemeyer, Sérgio Rodrigues, and Jorge Zalszupin collaborated on complete concepts for projects, from the architecture down to the art. Even entire cities were designed from scratch in their vision, like Niemeyer did for the capitol Brasilia. When their designs fell out of production, designer Etel Carmona carried on their vision and craftsmanship by bringing all the pieces under one roof, adding her own pieces to the mix. Truly inspiring in their construction and personality, the Brazilian pieces in our collection will add the energy of Brazil wherever you are.
