Christophe Delcourt is not only a committed and daring designer, he also is an ardent defender of French craft industry. He launched his own furnishing company in the late 90’s and soon stood out with his pieces of furniture combining elegant lines and raw materials. Théophile de Bascher
Théophile de Bascher graduated from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in 2023. He designed UGO hanging light for Delcourt's collection, Horses in my Dreams. during his apprenticeship in a workshop, observing the manipulation of heavy blocks of limestone using straps and hoists. The spectacle of this brutalist, poetic ballet naturally inspired him to create a hanging light. The block of stone became a timber hull, a streamlined aerial vessel. Cotton straps are fastened to the extremities and serve as electrical sheaths. Embedded in these lateral anchor points, the light source also appears to be suspended.
