Belgian designer Ilia Eckardt specializes in designer work using knitting techniques at a high level, experimenting with innovative techniques and materials. The combination of passion, a strong creative vision, and a broad knowledge of knitting techniques are his strengths, which he combines to convert them into commercial collections. As a child, Ilia grew up in Antwerp in a highly creative environment in which knitwear played a key role. His mother Hilde Frunt was involved in the fashion industry for more than 40 years. As she was considered a true knitwear expert, several famous Belgian designers sought her collaboration. Therefore, the creations of Raf Simons, Dries Van Noten, Ann Demeulemeester, Walter Van Beirendonck and many others were always present in the environment in which Ilia Eckardt grew up. At an early age, he realized his deep passion for the fashion industry and particularly for artistic knitwear.
